German lawyers, tax advisors, and notaries are all required to take out professional liability insurance according to the provisions of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO), the German Federal Notaries’ Act (BNotO), and the German Tax Advisors’ Act (StBerG), respectively.
The minimum insurance sum for law firms is EUR 2,500,000.00.

At Luther, we provide our services in accordance with the provisions of the “General Terms and Conditions for Client Engagements and Fee Arrangements” of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH. These General Terms and Conditions can be obtained from the respective offices of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft. To determine the scope of our services and the fees, we additionally enter into engagement letters and fee arrangements with our clients which we negotiate individually with our clients.
Avoiding conflicts of interests:
Professional regulations (Sec.43a (4) German Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO)) prohibit German lawyers from representing if there is a conflict of interest. This is why we always check whether a conflict of interests exists before we accept an engagement.
Online dispute resolution platform and consumer dispute resolution:
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution, which is available at https://.ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH does not participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a dispute resolution body for consumers.
