Stuttgart – The Stuttgart-based fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger is acquiring the traditional fashion store Konen. In addition to the approximately 700 employees, the takeover includes the headquarters of the traditional Munich-based company as well as the branch in Luxembourg (Bram). Breuninger is thus expanding its presence from 11 to 13 stores and is represented internationally in stationary retail for the first time.
Breuninger's expansion step is part of its long-term growth strategy, combined with investments in stationary retail and the associated commitment to lively and liveable city centres.
Luther's teams in Germany and Luxembourg supported the entire transaction process for Breuninger. In addition to due diligence, complex contract negotiations and employment law advice, the expertise of Luther's Real Estate & Infrastructure industry group was particularly in demand for the Konen property in Munich's city centre (Sendlinger Straße).
The closing of the takeover is subject to antitrust review. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
