Leipzig - After several years of preparation and proceedings, the City of Jena and the international consortium of bidders Elex & jenArena GmbH & Co. KG have concluded the project contracts for the construction of the new stadium and the surrounding sports infrastructure. Luther advised on the project from the conception and establishment of the operating company to the signing of the contracts.
The investor is taking over the planning and construction of the sports facility in Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld-Jena and will operate it for 25 years in a joint operating company with the City of Jena. The Free State of Thuringia is supporting the project with a grant of 11 million euros. The remaining construction investment is being financed. The stadium will have a capacity of approximately 15,000 and will not only be suitable for professional sports, but also be home to popular sports and a supra-regional event center.
Luther provided comprehensive support for the project, including public procurement and contract law as well as corporate and state aid law.
