Luther advises SparkassenVersicherung on acquisition of Luxembourg-based reinsurer RESA

Luxembourg, 27.06.2022 – Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft advised the Stuttgart-based SV SparkassenVersicherung (SV) on the acquisition of the Luxembourg-based reinsurer RESA S.A., which will in future operate under the name SV Rückversicherung S.A.. With this step, SV aims to optimise the group's ability to balance the fluctuations inherent in the insurance business.

Under the leadership of Luther Luxembourg, Luther's cross-border team supported the buyer, SV, throughout the entire regulatory approval and purchase process (due diligence, regulatory issues, drafting of purchase and employment agreements as well as corporate governance issues). The transaction closed on 1 June 2022.
