Leipzig – Leipziger Stadtwerke is investing in the phase-out of energy production from fossil fuels by combining renewable, innovative and conventional power plant technologies. The heart of the new power plant Leipzig Süd will be two modern gas turbines of Siemens at a cost of around EUR 60 million. These have very low emission values and are already designed for up to 100% hydrogen.
Luther is advising Stadtwerke Leipzig in all legal matters concerning the realisation of the power plant project. The two gas turbines are the first of several lots. The contract was awarded following a Europe-wide bidding procedure.
