Frankfurt - The COVID-19-crisis is driving digitalisation in Germany enormously, especially EdTech start-ups are experiencing a strong upswing. The Munich-based start-up StudySmarter has closed a further seed financing round successfully. In addition to existing investors, VC Dieter von Holtzbrinck Ventures participates as lead investor. Again, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft provided comprehensive advice to the EdTech start-up on all aspects of the financing round.
The financing round represents an important milestone for the further growth of StudySmarter as a platform for life-long learning: The additional resources will be predominantly invested to accelerate the technical development of the StudySmarter platform in order to support users even more intelligently and individually in their learning process. In addition, StudySmarter will establish itself as the leading learning platform in the DACH region and thus significantly increase the number of users.
Most recently, Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft advised Study Smarter on a cooperation with STARK-Verlag, one of the German market leaders in the area of exam preparation. Together, StudySmarter and STARK-Verlag make digital learning content available to students free of charge, thus supplementing the home schooling offer for around 850,000 digital learners.
