Berlin – The Netherlands-based food producer Wessanen has taken over the rapidly expanding start-up Little Lunch, a German producer of organic food. The acquisition is subject to approval of the German Federal Cartel Office. Luther provided Wessanen with comprehensive legal advice during the transaction.
The Wessanen Group, which operates across Europe, specialises in producing and marketing organic and dietary foodstuffs. Germany is of strategic importance to the undertaking as it is the biggest market for organic products in Europe.
Founded in 2014, littlelunch GmbH, with its registered office in Augsburg, Germany, is a market leader in the German market for organic soups, sauces, stews and stocks and is now already generating sales in the double-digit million range.
