On 7 May the board of partners of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH has duly elected its Managing Partners: Elisabeth Lepique and Dr. Markus Sengpiel will head the law firm with effect from 1 July 2014 for the next four years.
So, for another tenure, Markus Sengpiel continues as part the dual leadership, which he has formed successfully at Luther since 2010 together with Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Hahn. Elisabeth Luther Lepique has taken on the role as co-managing partner for Hans-Georg Hahn, who in the future would like to focus more on his mandate business, and therefore did not stand for election. Most recently, Lepique was head of the Luther offices in Cologne.
Regarding her election Elisabeth Lepique states: "Under the guidance of Hans-Georg Hahn and Markus Sengpiel the office has developed excellently during the last four years. This in mind, together with Markus Sengpiel I now would like to steadily continue this strategy. We are particularly focused on our international activities and a proactive, timely occupation with promising consultation topics. Henceforth, it will also be our mission as a leading full-service law firm to advise national and international companies in all strategic areas, custom-made from a one-stop source."
And Markus Sengpiel adds: "Many thanks to Hans-Georg Hahn for the excellent cooperation during the last four years. We regret his decision not to stand for the role of Managing Partner again, but we deeply understand his wish to fully devote himself again to his successful mandate work. This includes in particular the monitoring of complex M & A transactions in the private and public sector, with a specialization in privatization of all kinds, in particular transactions and the restructuring of hospitals and care facilities. Already during his tenure as Managing Partner, he has contributed significantly to the fact that Luther was able to establish its reputation as a leading law firm in the M & A segment and the public sector. I am also looking forward to continuing the proven concept of dual leadership together with Elisabeth Lepique. Elisabeth Lepique, an excellent lawyer with many years of experience in local management is predestinated for this task. Moreover, she is one of the few consultants in the German law firm market, who is successfully holding the role of Managing Partner besides her challenging mandate activities."
Hans-Georg Hahn: "After four highly successful years, I have decided to return entirely to my mandate business again. During this period of time, we have set the course for the future of the firm: not only in view of our continuous rise in profitability, but also by the quality of our mandates as well as our consulting activities and the development of the Luther brand. I am firmly convinced that the new leadership will succeed in driving the firm forward and will adapt to the challenges of the market."
Elisabeth Lepique (51) studied law at the universities of Mannheim and Bonn. Since 1991 she has been admitted to the bar and joined Luther and its preceding companies in 2001, and she has headed the Cologne office since 2010. Main consultation topics of Elisabeth Lepique include company and tax law consultation of the public sector.
Dr. Markus Sengpiel (49) has worked for Luther as a lawyer since 1995 and was nominated Managing Partner in 2002. From 2003 to 2010 he was the head of the Cologne office of Luther. Markus Sengpiel is an expert in IT and media law as well as industrial property rights.
