Berlin, 4 November 2024 – Luther's Berlin office is growing: Dr. Astrid Seehafer, an experienced partner, will join the firm's Commercial and Health Care & Life Science Groups on 1 November 2024. She has extensive expertise in product and product liability law and is particularly focused on ESG issues along the supply chain.
Dr. Astrid Seehafer was previously a partner in charge of the ProductLaw practice at ARQIS Rechtsanwälte and had previously worked at Freshfields for many years. She has extensive experience in advising industrial companies in highly regulated markets, such as manufacturers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals and lifestyle products, as well as players in the food, cosmetics and consumer goods industries, including retail. She focuses on conducting complex product liability proceedings and providing regulatory advice, particularly on product compliance and green deal regulation.
Dr. Astrid Seehafer's team will be complemented by a senior associate moving from another unit (the two know each other from their time together at Freshfields) and an academic associate.
Dr. Steffen Gaber, head of Luther's ‘Commercial & Distribution Law, Product Liability/Product Compliance’ practice area, says: ‘Dr. Astrid Seehafer and her team are a perfect match for our practice area. This addition is an important building block in our growth strategy. In particular, we are focusing on product liability, product law and related ESG issues along the supply chain and are expanding this area sustainably.’
Dr. Astrid Seehafer says: ‘Luther is focusing on future issues and strategic growth. Its size, internationality, industry expertise and partnership-based approach provide the ideal platform for me to guide my clients safely through the current “regulatory tsunami”, to defend against liability claims and to help them to shape the green transition for themselves. Strengthening the Berlin office for this purpose is a great opportunity and challenge that I am really looking forward to.’
