Andy Schaal has been specialising and primarily advises on real estate and corporate law. His work in real estate law involves assisting clients with complex – including cross-border – individual transactions and also portfolio transactions for investment funds, family offices and other institutional investors from Germany and abroad. He has extensive experience in real estate law, including relevant aspects of corporate law and financing. Andy Schaal further advises his clients on how to manage, develop and structure their properties, establishments and portfolios and on all matters pertaining to commercial landlord and tenant law.
Andy Schaal is also a lecturer at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, where he has been teaching business law since the winter semester 2023.
Andy Schaal studied law at Viadrina European University in Frankfurt/Oder (Germany). Part of his subsequent legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin (Germany) involved working at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community, as well as at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP and at Morrison & Foerster LLP (both in Berlin with a focus on real estate law). Andy Schaal was admitted to the German Bar in 2019 and began his professional career at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP in real estate and corporate law, following which he moved to Jenckel und Partner Rechtsanwälte and then to GSK Stockmann. Andy Schaal joined Luther in August 2024.
