Dr Ulf Gibhardt (44) joins Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH as a partner. He will establish a notary’s office at Luther`s office in Frankfurt. Due to the high concentration of corporate and capital market transactions in the economic region of Frankfurt as well as the strong growth of these topics within the law firm, Luther intends to complete its service range in this field with the addition of Dr Gibhardt.
Moreover, with Dr Gibhardt coming to Luther as partner as of 1 July 2015, the law firm strengthens one of its main areas of practice, namely providing fiscal and legal advice to family-owned companies and wealthy private clients on tax-optimised arrangements for succession, restructuring of private and business assets, sales of companies as well as company-internal restructurings and reorganisations.
Dr Gibhardt lastly worked for the renowned Frankfurt notary’s office Göring, Schmiegelt & Fischer. Before, from 2005 to 2013, he worked in the Private Clients Team of SJ Berwin LLP (now King & Wood Mallesons LLP) from 2009 on as a partner, and prior to this he worked in the tax department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from 2002 to 2005.
Besides his tasks as a notary, his main activities cover tax and legal consulting with regard to business succession as well as to issues regarding succession law and property law, especially in close cooperation with banks and investment advisors.

Dr Ulf Gibhardt is a notary, lawyer, tax advisor and Diplom-Kaufmann. Moreover, since 2008 Dr Gibhardt is a lecturer at the University of Münster in the extra-occupational studying programme “business succession, succession law and property“. The focus of his lecture is the tax-optimised sale of family-owned companies.
